Partner template
Starting with OS4X release 2026-01-06, OS4X supports a new partner type "template". A partner can simply be saved as "template" by clicking on the button "Save as template" when adding or editing a partner:
Template partners are not active and don't count in the license volume. They also are not able to do anything (no protocol interaction, no login etc.). They cannot be used for enqueueing, nor for configuring any automation.
Cloning a template
Cloning a template into a valid partner entry is done in the partner list by clicking the corresponding button "Clone template to new partner":
The question for a new shortname comes up, you can enter any value:
Cloned entities
The new partner obtains a lot of configuration parameters from the template. These are:
- Longname, substation definition, comment
- OFTP protocol parameters
- plugin groups definitions (for incoming and outgoing jobs) and their configurations, allowed and disallowed recipients for all hierarchy levels
- all active locations
- all active departments
- all active recipients
