OS4XBox restore system defaults

Sometimes it is necessary to re-install the OS4XBox to the system default in order to undo the last (mostly corrupt) change to the system. For this operation, to the following:

Boot from SD card to install the factory reset recovery system

(re-)start the OS4XBox and press "delete" during the BIOS startup

You will enter the BIOS screen.

Navigate with the cursor keys to the menu entry "Advanced BIOS Features", press Enter to navigate into this menu

Next, navigate down to the entry "-> Hard Disk Boot Priority", press Enter

Navigate down to "USB-HDD0: Generic STORAGE DEVICE", which is the SD card reader

move this entry up to the first position (so the "1." is in front of it) by pressing the button "+" (plus sign)

press F10, then Enter to save this settings and to reboot.

The automatic reinstallation process begins. After it has finished, the box halts and powers off. You then have to do the following (re-organize the boot order to "hard disk drive first):

Reconfigure boot order for normal operation

start the OS4XBox and press "delete" during the BIOS startup.

Next, navigate down to the entry "-> Hard Disk Boot Priority", press Enter

Navigate down to "Ch2 M.: FUJITSU M(....)", which is the hard disk drive in your OS4XBox

move this entry up to the first position (so the "1." is in front of it) by pressing the button "+" (plus sign). In some systems, the entry isn's called "Fujitsu", but another vendor of hard drive disks, so it may vary. Import is that the SATA controller is chosen as first bootup device, not the USB card reader.

press F10, then Enter to save this settings and to reboot.

Your system is then ready to start a factory-reset OS4XBox. It will boot normal, and after finished it realizes that a backup exists on your SD card. It then replays the backup and reboots the OSXBox again. After that, your OS4XBox is ready to go.
